I was given a cone garden, I am now able to plant vegetables and not go far away to the farm to get vegetables, especially during rainy seasons, when farms are inaccessible. I have 13 grandchildren who are orphans and I am using my cone garden to feed them. I also plant in gunias to make me have more vegetables for my grandchildren that I stay with.

Through WISE I have been part of Technovation Girls Challenge, an initiative that uses technology to solve problems in the community. We identified period shame as one of the challenges faced by girls in my community and we developed CHECKMATE, which is an app that is used to collect and distribute pads.

I learned how to operate the computer, I learned software skills, I learned how to operate social media platforms e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. I now have an email address and I have registered for 21 C Skills to learn Data Science.

I enrolled in the program with the intention of learning and getting equipped with relevant skills for a smooth transition of my career from Biomedical Science to Machine Learning. During the learning period, it was clear that I was deeply rooted in coding hence the choice to pursue data science and machine learning.
