Laurel Steinfield
Board Member
Laurel Steinfield is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship & Sustainability at Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario, Canada, and former Associate Professor at Bentley University, USA. Her researches focuses on intersecting inequities and explores how (social) innovations/enterprises can improve livelihoods and how entrepreneurial ecosystems can be created to be more inclusive. As part of this work, she examines women economic empowerment initiatives, including gender lens investments and incubator programs, and women entrepreneurs’ experiences of these initiatives. She has over 15 years of experience working in and with social enterprises and entrepreneurs, and assessing social innovations and DE&I initiatives. She is an advisory board member for GENMAC (Gender, Marketing, Consumption), SeeHer Education, and the Transformative Consumer Research Consortium, is a leading member of the Reconcili-Action committee that supports community awareness and healing for urban Indigenous people in her local community of Chatham-Kent, Canada. She sits on Gender Work & Organization’s Editorial Board and Editorial Review Board, and is an Associate Editor for Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and Advertising & Society Quarterly.
